Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder has a younger brother Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They was in a house that didn't have electricity. Ryder became an avid reading book because there was no TV. Ryder began taking classes in acting at American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. Lucas The film from 1986, was her first major character. Ryder was fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder endured bullying while in highschool. Her hope was that the acting profession would end the way she dealt with bullying. It didn't turn out. However, she continued to pursue her dreams. Beetlejuice, a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major breakthrough. Ryder went on to have successful roles. In 1993, she was awarded an Oscar Prize for The Age of Innocence.
